YACHT

Ipswich Public Schools provides a post-secondary transition program for 18 - 22 students with various disabilities, focusing on communication skills, functional academic skills, independent living skills, social skills, vocational training, and community exploration for students who have not yet received a high school diploma. The program revolves around a community-based instructional model, incorporating various staff and services in a collaborative model across the greater North Shore area. Students practice skills in the classroom, with additional practice and review in the community and natural environments. Students participate in a wide range of vocational training, including career planning, resume writing, interviewing skills, social skills in the workplace, dressing for work, and safety in the workplace. Students will receive job development, job coaching, and on-the-job training.
