Assistant Principal

John C. Maxwell said, "Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." I remind myself of this quote almost every day.  
I began my career in education in 2003 after earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a secondary education teaching license from Assumption College. My first teaching opportunity landed me in West Boylston, MA where I taught students about chemistry.  A year later, I packed up and moved to California to experience life on the West Coast, teaching in San Jose for four years and earning my Master’s degree in Urban High School Leadership from San José State University in 2008.
When I returned to Massachusetts, I spent eight wonderful years teaching sophomores about chemistry at Revere High School before stepping into school leadership as an Assistant Principal there for five years.  In 2021, I joined the Ipswich High School community as Assistant Principal, and I feel so fortunate to work in such a supportive, caring, and vibrant school.
I absolutely love working with students and learning from the people around me. Every experience, whether in the classroom, on a sideline, or in a conversation, has taught me new ways to connect, collaborate, and grow. Having grown up in a small Connecticut town my entire life, I lived a fairly sheltered life.  My adult life and career have opened my eyes to the beauty of diverse perspectives and the importance of empathy and understanding in education.
Outside of school, I share life with my husband of many years and our three amazing children; two boys and a girl. My boys love all sports, especially basketball, lacrosse, and football, while my daughter enjoys dance and basketball. Most days after school, you’ll find me on a local athletic field or in a gym, spending time with family and friends, or soaking up the sun at the beach.
I am committed to finding joy in everything I do and to helping young people recognize their own potential, both in school and in life beyond it. I believe deeply in being an advocate for positive change and in promoting kindness, empathy, and ownership in all that we do.
